Noble Eugene Eagleson

Noble E. Eagleson, 61, 400 E. Laurel, Olney, Ill., died Monday, February 5, 1990 of natural causes at Richland Memorial Hospital, Olney.

Mr. Eagleson was born February 25, 1928 in Calhoun, Ill., the son of Stanley and Lela (Rooks) Eagleson. He married Joan Reehoff, March 12, 1949 in Hinsdale, Ill, and she survives.

He retired in 1989 after 46 years of service with Eagleson Oldsmobile, Cadillac, Chevrolet Corp. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was on the church council. He served on the Chamber of Commerce of Olney and the Olney College Board for Olney Central College and its successor, Illinois Eastern Junior Colleges, District 529. He received the WVLN Community Service Award in 1966 for Outstanding Voluntary Service to the Olney Community.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Joan of Olney, are one son, Timothy Eagleson of Fairfield, Iowa; two daughters, Jamia Eagleson of Evansville, Ind. and Marilyn Brown of Olney; a sister, Mrs. Max (Margaret) Hocking of Olney two grandchildren, Alden and Kate, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Luphenous (Phene) of Olney and Bud of Nevada.

David Shafer (1969)

Still miss him at Eagleson's. My family bought cars from him because of his trustworthiness and kindness. My wife and I bought cars from him as well. He once drove a car that he thought we should have and after a big snow. He unknowling drove into our yard. It was super funny. By the way, we bought and loved the car! He would always send us birthday cards with his beautiful personal handwriting!
