Ward Lewis Williams, 72, Mt. Carmel, Illinois died March 11, 2002 at his residence.

He was born January 5, 1930 in Richland County Illinois, the son of Wallace and Effie (McNair) Williams.

Mr. Williams was a Korean Army veteran and a member of the VFW. He was an auto and diesel mechanic. He worked for Dulgar Chevrolet, Allendale Gravel, Seibert’s Mobile Service, Jake’s Tire in Mt. Carmel and was a manager at the Evansville K-Mart Auto Service Department.

Survivors are his wife of 45 years, Fayetta (Crane) Williams of Mt. Carmel; a son, Neal F.(Gina) Williams of Mt. Carmel; three grandchildren; two brothers, Maynard (Louise) Williams of Mt. Carmel and Ray V. (Rose) Willams of Ellery, Ill; and a sister, Eleanor (John) Seitz of LaPlace, Ill.

Preceding him in death were his parents, brother, Charles F. Williams and a grandchild.
