Doris L. (Largent) Murray, 89, of Olney, died on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital. Doris was born on January 2, 1932 in Vandalia, IL, the daughter of Glen and Bernice (Brooks) Largent. She married Donald D. Murray on June 12, 1949 in Olney, IL, and he preceded her in death on September 30, 2016.

Doris loved to cook for her family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her dog, Molly. Doris was very good at staying in touch with her friends, even during the last year when it was difficult. Doris had many jobs over the years, but her favorite was cooking at the Middle School. She was often referred to as "Grandma" by the students. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and also attended Immanuel United Methodist Church.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Debi Phillips and husband Rick of Olney; daughter-in-law, Pam Murray of Olney; grandson, Mark Phillips and wife Kelsey of Wildwood, MO; granddaughter, Christina Bare and husband Kyle of Olney; granddaughter, Candice Murray Broussard and husband Matt of Park City, UT; great granddaughter, Devan Magalski and husband Joe of Boston, MA; cousins, Iris Rademacher and Billeye Staff; sister-in-law, Shirley Patterson; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Pat (Hubble) Hanks and Linda (Kocher) Coan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son, Doug Murray; infant sister, Beverly Ann Largent; and cousin, Betty Darling.

A Visitation for Doris will be held on Friday, March 26, 2021, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney. A Funeral Service for Doris will follow on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 10:00 AM, also at the funeral home.

Interment will take place at Crest Haven Memorial Park in Claremont, IL.
