William John Paddock

Sergeant William John Paddock, 20 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy W. Paddock of Olney Route 5, was one of four killed in a crash of twin engine airplane at Nassau, Bahamas, Saturday night December 22, 1951.

Sergeant Paddock was born in Richland County September 3, 1931 and was a member of the United States Army Air Force. His three year enlistment would have expired in September. He attended Olney High School and helped his father on the Paddock farm southwest of Olney, and also in driving a truck for Prairie Farms Creamery before entering the service.

Sergeant Paddock is survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Roy W. Paddock, a brother Arnold of Olney, a veteran of World War II., a sister Karen Paddock at home.

Also surviving are his maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Sam Whiteside of Olney and paternal grandmother Mrs. Julia Paddock of Olney.
