Doris Rosemary Morgan (Spillman)

Doris Rosemary "Rose" (Morgan) Spillman, 93, of Olney, IL, passed away February 3, 2025 in Evansville, IN.  Rose was born March 25, 1931 in Noble, IL to parents, Floyd Morgan and Ethel (McDade) Morgan. She married James Spillman on July 3, 1949 in Dundas, IL. James preceded her in death on December 24, 2017.

Rose enjoyed her career as a bookkeeper and cosmetologist. She took pride in her work and was meticulous in her approach, everything had to be perfect. Rose also took pleasure in quilting, crafting and painting. Her paintings of countrysides and scenery were calming and soothing.

Rose loved to entertain and made sure everyone was taken care of. She made visitors feel comfortable and as though they were family.Rose was a social person and enjoyed being around her friends. She loved playing cards and any activities, especially listening to music and devotions.

Rose was a member of the Immanuel Methodist Church in Olney and The Eastern Star.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Linda Schultz and husband John of Evansville, IN; daughter, Karen Pine and husband Scott of Port St. Lucie, FL; son, Larry Spillman of Olney; grandchildren, Andrew (Kristy), Kevin (Kim), Robert (fiancée Heather), Michael (Katie), Neil (Becca) and Mindy (Chris Slater) Schultz, Sharon (Craig) Elsner, Kyle Pine, and Sara (Richard Rodriguez) Pine; 22 great grandchildren; 3 great great -grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Miller, Anna Eblin, and Wilma Cummins; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim Spillman; infant son, James Oliver Jr.; siblings, Vergie Morgan, Gladys White, Maude Straley, Louis Morgan Sr., and George Morgan.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025 from 05:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home, Olney.Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home, Olney.

Interment will take place on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Haven Hill Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to Shriners Childrens Hospital.
