Dolores Irene "Dee" Gibson, 68, of Olney, died  Wednesday, December 30, 1998, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Ind.  Funeral services at Summers-Kistler funeral Home in Olney, with Bro. Bill Cox officiating. Burial in Crest Haven Cemetery near Claremont.

Mrs. Gibson was born April 21, 1930, in Muskingum County, Ohio, the daughter of Lonnie S. and Opal (Hudkins) Larry. She married Charles Lewis "Chuck" Gibson November 8, 1947, in Henderson, Ky. He preceded her in death April 18, 1996.

She was a retired caseworker, aide and office manager for government agencies with the Democratic Party.

Mrs. Gibson worked many years for the Democratic organization as a chairperson, fund raiser and in many other positions. She was most recently elected chairwoman of the Richland Counry Board, and was a volunteer with the Salvation Army.

She is survived by a son, Gregg Gibson and his wife, Janet, of Olney; one daughter, Gail Cmiel and her husband, Andrew, of Indian Wells, Calif.; one sister, Kathryn Stone and her husband, George, of Kokomo, Ind.; and two grandchildren, Anthony and Nicholas Gibson of Olney.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
