Wanda Farris Heindselman Class of 1948Wanda Lea Heindselman, 85, of Olney, passed away on November 27, 2015 at Burgin Manor.  Services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home with burial in Crest Haven Cemetery east of Olney.

Wanda was born December 2, 1929 in St. Louis, MO to parents Telford and Neva (Claycomb) Farris. She married Glenn "Bud" Leonard Heindselman on July 24, 1948 in Arkansas. He precedes her in death.

Wanda was a hard-working devoted wife and mother of six. She was a farm wife who went above and beyond to support that lifestyle.  Wanda's family was her greatest joy. She met her future husband when she was two and he was four and they enjoyed 65 years of marriage together. She was a loving grandmother and great grandmother. She was most proud of her family's accomplishments. Wanda had many talents including gardening, painting, crafts, and needlework. She was a well known seamstress and her clientele was wide and varied and her creations ranged from simple designs to elegant formal wear.

Wanda was a fantastic cook. Her home food preservation skills were extraordinary with her crowning achievement being "Wanda's Homemade Apple Sauce". Wanda enjoyed watching hummingbirds and later in life she became a devout St. Louis Cardinals fan, as was her father.

She is survived by daughters, Debra (Terry) McGuire and Sherry (Rick) Waddle of Mt. Carmel, IL; sons, Rick (Ruth) Heindselman of Shiloh, GA; Jay Heindselman and Dawn Rose of Hiram, GA; and Mike (Juli) Heindselman of Delavan, WI; grandchildren, Travis McGuire, Chelsea (Roger) Vaughn, Andrew Heindselman, Kate (Ty) Moutray, Rachael Waddle, Caleb Heindselman, Jenna Heindselman, and Evan Heindselman; great-grandchildren, Trey Vaughn, Rhett Vaughn, Brittany Vaughn, Alexis Vaughn, and Avery Moutray; and several nieces and nephews

Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Steve Heindselman, brother, Leonard Farris, and young sister, Teddy Lou Farris

Jolly Michels (Dallmier) (1976)

Wanda was a great seamstress and a joy to be around.

25 years ago she made my weddinng trouseau and bridesmaids dresses.  Many compliments on both.  Sorry for your loss.
