Richland County native, Ted Dean, 53, Zionsville, IN, died Friday August 31, 1984 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis.  Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery at Parkersburg.

Born at Parkersburg March 2, 1931, he was the son of Harry and Leona Smith Dean. His father is deceased but his mother survives.

Mr. Dean was a professional race car driver for more than 20 years. A graduate of Southern Illinois   University, he had been employed by St. Vincent's Stress Center in the Hoosier capital.  He was in the U.S. Air Force in Korea.

Survivors include the widow, Dianna Joy Dean; two daughters, Jackie Sue Boyer of Flora and Peggy Jo Bible of Champaign; his mother, Mrs. Leona Dean of Olney; a grandmother, Mrs. Metta Smith of Parkersburg; several cousins and several aunts and uncles.
