Delbert Ellis Von Almen

Delbert Ellis Von Almen, 93, of Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Portside at Grande Dunes Assisted Living.  Born July 11, 1927 in Olney, IL,  he was a son of the late Galen B. and Lula Priscilla Ann (Miller) Von Almen.  Delbert was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn (Poland) Von Almen in 2002.

He was in the transportation industry most of his working career, and came to Myrtle Beach in 2012.  Del had a wealth of knowledge about cars.  He was well known by all at Portside at Grande Dunes.

He was a World War II veteran.          

Survivors include daughters, Judy Lane, Becky Brown (Michael); a brother, Paul Von Almen; grandchildren, Kirk Brown (Kimberly), Angie Lane; great-grandson, Logan Brown.

No formal services are scheduled at this time.  Delbert's final resting place will be in Illinois.

Paul Von Almen (1951)

There was a very special closeness in our lives as brothers.  He made friends wherever he was and will be missed greatly.
