Nadine Sterchi (McKinney)

Nadine A. (Sterchi) McKinney, 87, of Longview passed away on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.  Funeral services at Joines Funeral Home, Illinois Route 130 South, Villa Grove, with the Rev. Sandi Hire officiating. Burial in Fairland Cemetery, Fairland.

Mrs. McKinney was born Aug. 2, 1926, in Richland County, Illinois, a daughter of Roy and Alice (Heitman) Sterchi.  She married C.O. "Mac" McKinney on May 18, 1947; he died on Feb. 11, 2009.

Surviving are one son, Spencer (Toody) McKinney of Decorah, Iowa; two grandsons, Eric (Holly) McKinney of Lake Tomahawk, Wis., and Brett (Judy) McKinney of Rhinelander, Wis.; seven great-grandchildren, Will Beede, Morgan, Avery, Parker, Colin and Grady McKinney and Taylor McKinney; one sister, Veda Sterchi of Olney; niece, Janet Sterchi; nephews, Larry Sterchi, Ed (Julie) Sterchi and Dave (Debbie) Sterchi; great-nephew, Sam (Laura) Sterchi; great-great-nephew, Grayson Sterchi; great-niece, Hillary (Aaron) Sterchi-Beard.

Mrs. McKinney was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charles Sterchi; and sister-in-law, Esther Sterchi.

Mrs. McKinney was a graduate of Olney High School and was employed prior to marriage at General Telephone Co. as a biller.

Nadine was a homemaker for 61 years of their married life and they resided in Longview for 57 years.  Nadine was active in Home Extension, Broadlands Women's Club and was a member of the Longview Methodist Church. She enjoyed camping, homemaking, shopping and living in their home in Longview.
