Theo M. (Schonert) Conour, 96, of Bridgeport, Illinois, died on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Theo was born on November 23, 1926 in Olney, Illinois, the daughter of Emmett and Ruth (Gledhill) Schonert. She married Donovan Conour on November 4, 1944 in South Carolina, and he preceded her in death on December 20, 1986.

Theo enjoyed fishing, camping, yard work, Bingo, cooking, sewing, St. Louis Cardinals baseball, and traveling, especially to Las Vegas and the Grand Ole Opry with her husband, Don. Most of her life she was a homemaker until she moved to Florida and worked at Silver Springs Park in Silver Springs, FL. She also worked during WW II in a factory in Bridgeport, IL making land mine detectors. Theo loved her 40 years in Florida, and she also loved her family.

Theo is survived by her son, James Conour and wife Ivy of Bullhead City, AZ; son, Larry Conour and wife Kay of Olney, IL; sister, Evelyn Kretchmer of Show Low, AZ; sister-in-law, Betty Hazel of Champaign, IL; 6 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant son, Richard Conour; brother, Ralph Schonert; sisters, Mary Ellen Crites and Rosy Carter.

Cremation Rites will be accorded, and a graveside service will be held at a date to be determined.
