Dolores Schonert (Wampler)

Dolores L. "Pat" Yockey Wampler, 79, 162 E. Brown Road, Vincennes, died Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born May 7, 1926, in Olney, Ill., she was the daughter of Vernon "Jack" and Mabelle (Green) Schonert.

Pat was manager with her husband, Dale Yockey, at the Smith-Alsop Paint Store, then worked as a bookkeeper at Montgomery Ward and was head teller at Citizens Bank. She was a member of the Indiana Presbyterian Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Solid Workers Missionary Group, and Beta Sigma Phi. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dale Yockey on Sept. 4, 1983; and her parents, Vernon "Jack" and Mabelle (Green) Schonert.

Survivors include her husband, John "Jack" Wampler of Vincennes; three daughters, Suzie Smith of South Carolina, Debra Bigler of Rockwall, Texas, and Diana Yockey of Vincennes; one stepson, John Wampler of Vincennes; one sister, Betty Cruise of Olney; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.

The funeral conducted at Goodwin Funeral Home by the Rev. Cheryl Thorne. Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
