Jane Hampton Jones, 78, died Tuesday November 1, 2005, at her residence.  Graveside services at Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney with Rev. Sue Bailey officiating.

Mrs. Jones was born December 8, 1926, in Benton, the daughter of Ernest B. and Alta (Simmons) Hampton.  She married Charles R. Jones on April 10, 1946. He survives.

She was retired. She and her husband owned and operated Jones Cycle & Toy Shop for 26 years. She was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Olney.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband of Olney; two sons, Michael R. Jones and his wife, Cindy, of Centralia, and Charles D. Jones and his wife, Jane of Springfield; three grandchildren, Melissa Doran and her husband, Mike of Salem, Erica Jones of Springfield, and Joy Jones, of Belleville; two step-grandchildren, Stephanie Sarver, of Las Vegas, Nev., and Derek Weinberg, of Springfield; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Ernest Hampton Jr., and a sister, Ruth Squires.
