James Butler

James H. Butler, 76, of Folsom, California passed away on July 28, 2003. He was born in Olney, IL on May 29, 1927 son of Edwin Butler and Evalina Weidner Butler.

James was President of American Federation and Television Artist.  He served 38 years at KMOX radio; was broadcaster of Football Cardinals and Basketball Hawks. Volunteer of the year at Rose Resnick, (Lighthouse of the Blind) 10 years. Graduated 2nd in his class at Notre Dame. Program Director, Night Major of St. Louis are among his KMOX assignments. Directed plays for Webster College and the Gateway Theatre and played clarinet in a swing Band. In his retirement he volunteered for B'Nai Isreal.

James retired to San Francisco 12 years ago. He was present as the broadcaster for the 'Topping Out' as the last piece of the St. Louis Arch was put into place. He will be loved and missed by his family and friends.

James is survived by his wife, Jean Butler; sons Michael, Matthew and daughter Candace Butler; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
