Dale Gharst, 80, of Newton died Saturday, August 15, 1992, at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.  Burial in Liberty Cemetery in Wakefield, Ill.

Mr. Gharst was born October 28, 1911 in Richland County, the son of Roy and Ada (Wilson) Gharst. He married Mildred Wakefield June 3, 1938 in St. Louis, Mo.

Mr. Gharst was a retired farmer and director of the Denver Mutual Insurance Company. He attended Liberty Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Gharst is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Roy and Shila Gharst of Camargo; two daughters, Mrs. Joy (Carol) Hazel of Noble and Mrs. Douglas (Marilyn) Neller of Troy, Mich.; four grandchildren.

Mr. Gharst was preceded in death by his parents and one sisterm Aileen.
