Dennis M. Hoover, 76, of Springfield and formerly of Fairfield, Illinois passed away on December 22, 2019.  He was born on May 24, 1943.

Dennis was a U. S. Army Veteran serving in Vietnam; was  a teacher for 25 years, having taught Industrial Arts in 1979 and 80 at ERHS in Olney and was a mechanic for years.  After Dennis retired, he drove a school bus and was a substitute teacher. He married his wife Barbara Dews in 1999.

Dennis was a beloved husband and father.  He loved his students and his own children. He is survived by his wife Barbara; five children- Kerianne, Jaylene, Martin, Christopher, and Geoffrey; one stepson- Roger Woolen.

He was cremated, and a graveside memorial service held at Maple Hill Cemetery with full military rites provided by Anthony Wayne Post #176 American Legion and the Wayne County Post #4535 VFW.
