Marion Veath Young, 87, of Northbrook, Illinois; passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017 in Highland Park, Illinois. Burial in Chester, Illinois.

She was born to the late Victor J. and Anna M. (nee: Spitz) Veath on February 8, 1929 in Chester, Illinois.

She married Dr. Charles R. Young on June 29, 1952 at St. John Lutheran Church in Chester, Illinois; he preceded her in death on November 18, 2012.

Marion Young was a life long educator.  She retired from Deerfield, IL High School in 1986 after many years as a Home Economics teacher.  She taught Homemaking at East Richland High School in 1952. She graduated from Chester High School in 1947 and went on to earn her teaching degree from Mac Murray College in 1951. She was actively involved in her church, Ascension Lutheran, in Northfield, IL.  She enjoyed playing golf with her husband, the late Charles Young.  Her greatest joy though came from her spending time with her grandchildren. 

She is survived by her two children, and two nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband two sisters and one grandchild.
