Christopher Ray Scherer, 41, of Olney, died Monday, September 27, 2010, at his home.  Cremation rites were accorded.

Mr. Scherer was born December 1, 1968, in Olney, the son of Richard D. and Gladys (Simen) Scherer.

He was a truck driver and worked at Effingham Equity.

Mr. Scherer is survived by his mother, Gladys Scherer, of Olney; brother, Scott Scherer and his wife, Misty, of Olney; sister, Deb McCleave and her husband, Jeff, of Olney; niece, Jenny McCleave and Steve Russell; niece, Heather McCleave and Tyler Miller; niece, Lacy McCleave; niece, Sydney Scherer; nephew, Jonah Scherer; great-nieces, Destiny and Alexis Russell; and great-nephews, Dylan and Michael Russell.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard D. Scherer.
