Claremont Man Killed in Single Vehicle Crash

Richland County Illinois – A Claremont, Illinois man died at the scene of a single-vehicle crash outside of Olney Tuesday evening. Illinois State Police District 12 Post reported Bradley Cummins, 42, driving alone, was thrown from the vehicle he was driving when the accident occurred, causing his death.

The crash occurred at 6:08 p.m. on the Ste. Marie Blacktop, about 4-1/2 miles north of Illinois Route 50 in Richland County. Authorities said Cummins, driving a 1990 Chevrolet truck, was southbound on the Ste. Marie Blacktop when the vehicle drove off the roadway, across a residential yard and into a bean field. There the truck overturned and Cummins was thrown from the vehicle.

Bradley A. Cummins, 42, of Claremont, died Tuesday, August 2, 2005 in an accident on Ste. Marie Road.  Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Olney.

Mr. Cummins was born on December 29, 1962 in Albion, Michigan, the son of Patrick Andrew and Alberta (Brashear) Cummins.

He worked as a contractor/construction in the oil field. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Eagles Lodge and Veterans of Foreign Wars in Olney.

Mr. Cummins is survived by four daughters, Jennifer, Amy, Samantha and Leslie Cummins all of Olney; his mother, Alberta Cummins of Olney; fiancee, Sandy Rosborough of Olney; four brothers and sisters, P. Chris Cummins and his wife, Teri of Lemont, Susie Bloomquist and her husband, John of Charleston, Jon A. Cummins and his wife, Lisa M. of Claremont and Lisa Steber and her husband, Ron Jr. of Claremont.

He was preceded in death by his father.
