Madeline McWilliams (Kimpling)

Madeline “Maddy” Kimpling, 88, of Claremont, died Friday, May 13, 2011, at United Methodist Village in Lawrenceville.  Funeral services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home with Minister Doug Lathrop officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery in Claremont.

Mrs. Kimpling was born March 4, 1923, in Claremont, the daughter of Albert and Mary Jane (Mowrer) McWilliams.

She lived nearly her whole life in Claremont and graduated from Claremont High School (a three-year school) in 1939. She graduated from Olney Township High School in 1940. After graduating Sanford Brown Business College, she went to work for the Internal Revenue Service in Springfield where she met and subsequently married Harold Kimpling in December of 1945. After World War II, he left the service and they purchased Mack’s Turkey Farm from Madeline’s parents in 1946.

Mrs. Kimpling is survived by her son, Terry Kimpling and his wife, Kaye, of Effingham; granddaughter, Bonnie Kelly; and great-grandson, Zechariah Kelly, of Bryan, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Mary Jane McWilliams; husband, Harold, in 1992; and daughter, Melinda (Kimpling) Hataway, on April 6, 2011.
