Allen Smith Hyde, 61, Olney died Saturday January 26, 1985 in Richland Memorial Hospital.  Services at First Presbyterian church with Pastor David McNabb presiding. Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Hyde was born March 3, 1923 in Olney, the son of William Allen and Florence Smith Hyde. He married Rita Waggoner June 4, 1947 in Gays, and she survives.

He was owner of Hyde Insurance and Real Estate Agency and Hyde Bookkeeping Service. He was a U.S. Army WW II Veteran 692nd FA BN.

He was a member and Elder of the First Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of Olney Memorial Post 4226 VFW; Richland Post 30 American Legion; Lodge 140 A.F. & A.M.; Olney Lodge 926 B.P.O.Elks; Richland County Country Club and the Petroleum Club of Olney.

Other survivors include a son, David Allen, Oxford, Miss. and a daughter, Mrs. J.F. (Ann) Boyle of Evanston.
