Martha Helen "Babe" Summers, 74, of St. Louis formerly of Olney, died Wednesday July 23, 1997 at her home. Funeral services at Kutis Funeral Home in Afton Chapel in St. Louis. Burial in National Cemetery in St. Louis.

Summers was born January 16, 1923 in Olney, the daughter of Lee and Hazel (Brand) Pellum. She married Dr.  John B. Summers in 1946.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband; three sons, John B. Summers Jr. and his wife, Linda, Daniel Summers and his wife, Tina and David Summers, all of St. Louis; two daughters, Nancy Hall and her husband, Keith of St. Louis and Jane Anne Hoth and her husband, Rick of Brighton, Ill.; one sister, Mildred Clark of Olney; twelve grandchildren and several nieces  and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Robert Pellum and a sister, Elaine Stevens.
