Gerry E. Griffin, 59, Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Olney, died Friday at Sarasota following a long illness.
Cremation will be in Florida. The family requests that memorials be in the form of donations to the American Cancer Society.

He was born in Olney June 7, 1920, son of Gerald and Margaret Teitsort McKinley Griffin.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Olney Lodge 926 BPO Elks, Petroleum Club of Olney, the Masonic Lodge, Ainad Shrine Temple, Center Shrine Club of Olney. Mr. Griffin was a 32nd degree Mason.

Surviving are his wife, Yvonne; a daughter, Mrs. Jack (Beverly) Jennings, Olney rt. 4; a sister, Mrs. Mildred Taylor, Clarksburg, W. Va.; a step sister, Lois McKinley, Indianapolis, Ind.; three grandsons and one granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gerry (Butch) Griffin, and an infant brother.
