
Charles J. Conour, 78, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, died Tuesday evening at Lawrence Community Healthcare Center in Bridgeport.
He retired after 34 years with Texaco . He was a World War II veteran, serving in the 130th Infantry Division and was a member of the Lawrenceville Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Billett.
Surviving are his wife, Mima Crewell Means; three daughters, LaRita Christy of Warner Robbins, Ga., Anita Coleman of Oklahoma City and Charlene Vennard of Palestine; three stepsons, Tim Means of Catlin, John Means of Olney and Jim Means of Flat Rock; a sister, Suzanne Miller of Olney; seven grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; a great-grandchild; and six stepgreat-grandchildren.
His first wife, Margaret Bloom, preceded him in death.
Services at Cunningham Funeral Home Bridgeport Chapel, with burial in Crest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
