Vernon L. King, 58, of Olney died February 19, 1997 at his residence.  Services at Zirkle Funeral Home in Olney with Rev. Mark Myers officiating. Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery.

King was born October 7, 1938 in Dundas, the son of Roy V. and Kathryn (Stotler) King.

He was a carpenter who worked in California and Colorado before returning to Olney, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Olney.

He is survived by his mother and one son, Raymond King of O'Fallon.

He was preceded in death by his father.
