Mary L. Downen, 80, died Friday, May 19, 2000 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind. She was born November 29, 1919.

She taught business at East Richland High School from 1948 to 1975. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Ridgway.

Surviving are a sister, June Ritchie of Tucson, Arizona and a brother, Max Downen of Ridgway.

Services at Vickery Funeral Home Ridgway Chapel with burial in Asbury Cemetery in Omaha.
