Jeffrey N. Petty, 76, of Sandborn, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville. He was born on September 25, 1948 in Olney, Illinois to Kenneth and Margaret (Wingert) Petty. Jeffrey married Laurie A. (Moreland) Petty on May 16, 1998.

Jeffrey was a Sergeant for the Indiana Department of Corrections, retiring in 2014 with 20 years of service. He enjoyed going to sprint car races on dirt tracks and NASCAR. He enjoyed living in the country, taking great pride in his garden and lawn.

Family left to cherish the memories of Jeffrey include: his wife, Laurie Petty; daughter, Amy (Brooke) Westall of Olney, IL; son, Beau Petty and Emi of Marion, IL; grandson, Jourdan Westall; sisters, Connie (Jerry) Harriss of Olney, IL and Jan (Gene) Karns of Altamont, IL.

Jeffrey was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Stephen Petty.

Graveside services will be at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Sandborn Cemetery with Pastor John M. Moreland officiating. Family and friends are invited to attend the graveside service. There will be no visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to an animal shelter or animal rescue of your choice.
