Scott Kibler - Class Of 1979

Scott Kibler

Scott Kibler, 64, of Dayton, TX, formerly of Olney, lost his battle with cancer on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at his home, surrounded by his family.

Scott was born on September 24, 1960 in Olney, Illinois, the son of Larry and Beatrice (Scott) Kibler. He married Teresa Melton on September 5, 1998 at his home in Texas, and she survives.

Scott was a graduate of the ERHS Class of 1979. He also attended Lincoln Trail College and graduated in 1981, after which he moved to Texas. Despite his physical limitations, there was nothing Scott couldn't do. He was an avid Pool player, he played Darts, snow skied, he enjoyed deep sea fishing, and he loved the company of his friends and family. When anyone needed a solution to a problem, whether that be a simple fix or a large task, Scott could help. He began as an architect, even assisting with the design of one of the Twin Towers, and later became a grating estimator. Scott will be dearly missed, and people will remember him for his laugh and his BBQ.

Scott is survived by his parents Larry and Beatrice Kibler of Olney; his wife, Teresa of Dayton, TX; son, Chad Kibler of Seattle, WA; grandson, Aiden Kibler of TX; sister, Sheri (Brent) Pitts of Olney; nieces, Brittany (Taylor) Akers of Olney, Sydney (Jason Shryock) Pitts of Olney, and Hayley (Nathan Welch) Pitts of Olney; great nephew and niece, Conner and Lexie Akers.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Chester and Marie Scott; paternal grandparents, Perry and Evelyn Kibler; uncles, Kenny Bower, Larry Lee Scott, Danny Bigard and Rex Kibler; aunts, Betty Kibler, Arlene Bower and Mary Kibler.

Cremation Rites were accorded, and there will be a Celebration of Life held for Scott at 1:00 PM, with services beginning at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at the First Assembly of God in Olney, with Pastor Paul Goss officiating.
