Tamra Lynn (Utz) Runyon, 62, of Olney, formerly of Vincennes, IN, died on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital.

Tammy was born on July 11, 1959 in Olney, Illinois, the daughter of Charles Frederick Utz and Patricia "Patsy" Marcella (Totten). She was married to Jim Runyon, and he survives.

Tammy was born and raised in Olney, IL and studied at OCC to become a radiology technician. During college she met and married Steve Miller, after their separation she moved to Lawrenceville, IL where she found a loving companion in Betty Foss. They moved to Minneapolis, MN where they lived for 20 years and Tammy worked for Blue Cross/Blue Shield. When her parents’ health began to decline, Tammy moved to Vincennes, IN to be closer to family. Later, she married Jim Runyon. Tammy was a very outgoing person who never knew a stranger. She had a variety of interests and donated her time to many organizations including Relay for Life and Breast Cancer charities. She was also active in the local VFW, the Humane Society, and her church, Antioch Christian Church, and had a willingness to help others. Tammy was a loving Aunt and Great Aunt to her nieces; Amanda, Andrea, and their children. She will be forever remembered for her generosity and her kindness. 

Tammy is survived by her husband, her brother, Tony Utz of Olney, IL, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins, dear friends, and a nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Mitzi Daniel, and her infant son, Jim Runyon.

A funeral service will be held for Tammy at 5:00 PM on Monday, August 30, 2021 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney, with a visitation beginning one hour before service time at the funeral home.

Cremation Rites will be accorded.  Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
