Eric Calhoun

Eric Craig Calhoun, 53, of Effingham, formerly of Carterville and Olney, died Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at St. John’s Hospital, Springfield.  Funeral services at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home, Carterville, with the Rev. Richard Reed officiating. Burial in Pleasant Grove Memorial Garden, Murphysboro.

He was a certified public accountant and the chief financial officer for Mid America Motorworks in Effingham. Eric was a member of the Little Egypt Corvette Club and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He was of the American Baptist faith. Eric enjoyed fishing, golfing, corvettes, collecting old advertized clothes brushes and coins, and playing cards with his family. Eric was born Sept. 6, 1959, in Carbondale to Lloyd and Audrey Mae (Cozadd) Calhoun. He married Kathy A. Hamann on April 20, 2007, in Bloomington.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Calhoun of Effingham; children and their spouses, Elyse Mae Calhoun of Petersburg, Casey and Tara McCausland of Havana, and Kelsey and Jake Green of Lewistown; grandchildren, Josey and Graham McCausland, both of Havana; mother, Audrey Mae Calhoun of Carterville; brother and sister-in-law, Jeffrey and Diane Calhoun of Herrin; sister and brother-in-law, Allison Kay and Gary Stealey of Olney; and two nieces and their spouses, Holly and Jeff Collins of Raleigh, N.C., and Lisa and Nick Aponte and their children, Hanna and Hunter, of Mt. Prospect.

Eric was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
