
James Lee Cook, 60, of Charleston, passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2010, at his Charleston Rehabilitation and Health Care Center home. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Olney.
Jim was born July 18, 1950, in Olney, the son of the late John Vernon and Eleanor Margaret (Petitjean) Cook.
Jim, or "Cookie" as he was affectionately known, received his Bachelor's degree from Eastern Illinois University and his Master's degree from the University of South Carolina in Sumter. He taught Graphic Arts at Vincennes University in Vincennes, Ind., and for many years was the owner of Cook Printing, a successful printing business located in Charleston. He was a devoted member of Newman Catholic Center. He enjoyed fishing and playing cards and was an avid fan of drag racing and a collector of model cars. Jim enjoyed life and it was a good day if he was spending it in the company of family or friends. The fond memories of Jim will always be treasured by his family and those who considered him to be a friend - he will be truly missed.
Mr. Cook is survived by a sister, LaDonna Jourdan, of Hinckley; several nieces and nephews and their families; and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Marilyn Blank and Carol Ann Cook; and a brother-in-law, Charles Jourdan.
