Jeff Fritschle - Class Of 1976

Jeff Fritschle

Jeff Fritschle, 63, of Olney, went to Heaven on Saturday, September 25th, 2021 at his residence after battling prostate cancer. Jeff was born on July 6, 1958 in Olney, Illinois, the son of Daniel Joseph "Joe" Fritschle and Connie (Sensney).

Jeff was a lifelong farmer in the Claremont-Bonpas area and worked for Claremont Township as a road commissioner for many years. In addition, Jeff worked alongside his father Joe at Fritschle Land Improvement and continued the business after his father’s death. He loved excavating equipment and digging ponds, water ways, and foundations. Jeff was also a pilot and had a passion for building and flying Ultralight aircrafts for himself and others.

Jeff was a father and grandfather. His family has fond memories of water fights on hot days, airplane rides, playing on the large rock piles he used for his job, riding ATVs, and sneaking junk food out of the refrigerator in his shop. Jeff’s hobbies included Cardinal’s Baseball, listening to talk radio--especially Rush Limbaugh, woodworking, and rebuilding engines. During the summer, he liked to drag race his cars and trucks at various county fairs. Stories have also been told that during his high school years, he may have done some drag racing on Ste. Marie Road.

Jeff was a patriotic man who was very generous and always willing to help others. He was quiet in his generosity (Matthew 6:3-6). Although he disliked relying on others for help, Jeff was grateful for all of the people that took the time to care for and love him during his time of weakness. Even when he wasn’t feeling well, he never lost his sense of humor.

Jeff is survived by his four daughters, Heather Knox and her husband Jonathan of Olney, Amanda Schlick and her husband Josh of Olney, Samantha Fritschle and Tim Steele of St. Petersburg, FL, and Abby Holdrieth and her husband Ryan of Olney; mother, Connie Fritschle of Olney; grandchildren, Piper, Kennedy, Ryder, and Brittyn Knox, Vivian, Aida, and Grant Schlick, Declan Steele, and Reece Holdrieth; brothers, Brett (Joyce) Fritschle and Dan Fritschle; former wife, Cindy Fritschle; niece and nephew, Jacob Fritschle and Jenna Garner; and longtime friend, Teresa Barber.

He was preceded in death by his father.
