Carol Sue "Suzy" Spitz, 57 of Springfield, Illinois passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013, at St. John's Hospital.  Cremation was accorded

She was born in Olney, IL, on February 5, 1956, the daughter of Verner and Kathryn Moore Spitz.

Suzy graduated from East Richland High School and moved to Springfield where she was employed by SIS Insurance Company. Later she continued her career with the Illinois Retired Teachers Association.

Suzy was preceded in death by both of her parents and a brother, James.

Survivors include a son, Joshua; her life partner, John Phillips; and his children: Brandy Black and Brock Phillips all of Springfield. Also surviving are three sisters and a brother: Elizabeth (Leo) Deimel of O'Fallon, IL, Evelyn (Gilbert) Deimel and Barbara (James) Leaf both of Springfield, and John Spitz of Oblong; and several nieces and nephews.
