Kenneth Schrader

Kenneth Schrader, 74 of Newton, died Monday March 1, 1999 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.  Services at Crain Funeral Home in Newton with Rev. Dale Hood officiating. Burial in West Lawn Cemetery. Military rites conducted at the graveside by the Olney Legion Post 30.

Mr. Schrader was born October 28, 1924 in Olney, the son of Harry Herman and Ethel May (Read) Schrader. He married Peggy Woods July 28, 1973.

He was a U.S. Army Air Force WW II veteran ( S Sgt U.S. Army Air Corps ~ WW II). He was a supervisor for AMF Roadmaster-Brunswick in Olney. He was a member of Central Christian Church, Olney American Legion Post 30, VFW and the Jasper County Country Club.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Schrader of Newton; one son, Gary Schrader of New York; one daughter, Barbara Smith of Claremont; one step-son, Dan Songer of Newton; one step-daughter, Penny Miller and her husband, Dave of Newton; eleven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother, Donald Eugene Schrader of Texas; and two sisters, Edna Geier of Olney and Norma Jean Patterson of Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson; a brother, Robert James Schrader; sister, Mary Juanita Schrader.
