Neal Edward Hudson, 73, of Hot Springs Village, Ark., formerly of Olney, died Saturday Dec. 13, 1997.

Hudson was born July 28, 1924, in Noble. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran, 5th Ranger Batallion, received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star, was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame at Eastern Illinois University and the Illinois Basketball Hallof Fame. He was a member of the Lions Club, Elks Lodge, VFW and Athletic Directors Association.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Hudson; two daughters, Valorie Hudson of Manitowoc, Wisc., and Kathy Kane and her husband, Rick of Schaumburg; one brothers, Marshall Hudson of Dayton, Ohio; one sister, Bernice Morgan of Trotwood, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Tracy Burlingame and Rita Burlingame.
