George R. Harper

George Robert Harper, 67, of Flora, formerly of Olney, died Thursday February 13, 1992 at the Veterans Hospital in Marion.  Burial at Crest Haven Memorial Park with Rev. Paul Prater officiating. Full military rites conducted by the Olney veterans organizations.

Mr. Harper was born October 6, 1924 in Olney, the son of Gloyd and Maude (Nicholas) Harper. He married Jean Evans and she preceded him in death February 2, 1978.

Mr. Harper was employed at Fabick Tractor Company for 32 years at Flora and Salem. He was a radio operator on an Army troop ship during World War II. He was a saxophone player with the Cummins Band for 33 years.

Mr. Harper is survived by one brother, Lynn Harper of Portland, Ore.; one sister, Anna M. Ohm of Olney; one nephew, Mervin Ohm; one niece, Doris Marshall.
