Ivan Bennett

Ivan L. Bennett, 73, of Olney, died Saturday, November 15, 1997 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Ind.  Burial in Dundas Cemetery with full military rites at graveside.

Bennett was born February 5, 1924 in Richland County, the son of Dewie and Mary (Dugan) Bennett. He married Helen Grove September 6, 1944 in Tampa, Fla.

He was a United States Air Force veteran - 1st Lt - W W II - Korea.

He was owner of Olney Greenhouse and Flower Shop, Bennett Flowers in Newton and self-employed bookkeeper. He was a member of Mt. Gilead Church, VFW, American Legion, East Fork Bass Masters and Men's Bowling Association.

He was survived by his wife; two daughters, Sue Burgin and her husband, Warren of Olney and Sally Cherry and her husband, Wayne of Mt. Vernon; one brother, Benny Bennett of Miama, Fla.; two sisters, Wanda Bennett of Lake Havasu, Ariz. and Ida Slater of Olney; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Kathy Ruth Bennett.
