Urban Joseph Kocher, 62, of Olney, died Sunday, February 28, 2010, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.  Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Olney.

Kocher was born July 17, 1947, in Olney, the son of Lawrence Jacob and Bernadine Mary (Kapper) Kocher. He married Janet Iffert on October 16, 1971. She survives.

He had worked as a mechanic. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney and Olney Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Kocher is survived by his wife, Janet Kocher, of Olney; son, Patrick Kocher, of Olney; son, Andrew Kocher and his wife, Jamie, of St. Louis, Mo.; sister, Elfrieda Kaufmann and her husband, Maynard, of Newton; brother, Werner Kocher and his wife, Janette, of Dundas; brother, Leonard Kocher and his wife, Mary Ann, of Newton; brother, Linus Kocher and his wife, Rita, of Olney; brother, Virgil Kocher and his wife, Sue, of West Liberty; brother, Alvin Kocher, of Olney; brother, Frank Kocher and his wife, Carol, of Olney; brother, Chester Kocher and his wife, Kimberly, of Olney; sister, Gladys Keller, of Olney; brother, Austin Kocher and his wife, Dawn, of Olney; and two grandchildren, Jonathan and Halley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Jacob and Bernadine Mary Kocher, and one brother, Daniel Lawrence.
