Carol J. (Piper) Allen, was born in Olney, IL on December 31, 1932, to Kenneth and Bessie Piper and passed January 15, 2025, at Carriage Crossing in Decatur, IL. She married Dewey Mair and had four children; Cindy (Chuck) Osborn, Robin (Jim) Ferrebee, Kendra Parker and David (Shelley) Mair.

Carol and Dewey were married 25 years and after their divorce she married her Prince Charming, Wayne Allen. Carol and Wayne were inseparable for 44 years, until Wayne’s passing, May 15, 2024.

With their marriage she was blessed with Wayne’s four children; Sherry (Greg) Stott, John (Mary) Allen, Tim (Kathy) Allen and Suzi (Randy) Frey. With eight children, they were also blessed with many, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

After retiring from Allstate, Carol & Wayne were able to visit all of the contiguous United States together, except 1, in their motor home, hitting every flea market and re-sale shop along the way. Their biggest thrill was their trip to Europe with their church buddies. Carol was a member, forever, of Pilgrim Lutheran Church and loved it dearly. Thank you, Pastor Bill & Pat, for all your support & prayers.

For the last year-and-a-half, they resided at Carriage Crossing. To all the wonderful angels there (and you know who you are) thank you for your love & care. She truly loved you so much. Also, a heartfelt thanks to Lyle, her special angel.

Upon Wayne’s passing, Carol developed “Broken Heart Syndrome” and never fully recovered.

Carol was pre-deceased by her parents, brother Bob, daughter Cindy and son-in-law Chuck, Wayne and 2 grandchildren, Kelsey & Steve.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday (01-21-2025) at Pilgrim Lutheran Church with visitation from 10:00 A.M. until service time. The burial will be at North Fork Cemetery.
