James William Garner, 80, of Lewisville, Texas, passed away at home on November 8, 2013. He was born on March 6, 1933, in Charleston, Illinois, to Herbert Ernest and Mary Marguerite  Garner.

He graduated from East Richland High School in 1950; served in the United States Army; and graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 1966. He married Ruth Ann (Lambert) in 1956 and they eventually relocated to Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; children, Lisa Spencer (Mark) and Mike Garner (Brandy); his brother Ron Garner (Peggy); grandchildren, Laura Spencer, Matthew Spencer, Owen Garner, and Maisie Garner; niece, Patty Hart (Wesley); and his beloved dog Louie.
