Charles Chadwick VanCleve

Charles Chadwick VanCleve, 52, of Irvington, died Wednesday March 2, 1988 at St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia.

Services in Centralia at the Luer Funeral Home, the Rev. Louis Fluck presiding. Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney.

Mr. VanCleve was born June 23, 1935 in Olney, the son of Gilbert and Mary Eloise (Roberts) VanCleve. He married Sandra Rose Cutshall on June 14, 1958 in Olney, who survives.

He was an English teacher at Centralia High School since 1962. He was member and past president of the Central City Lions Club. He was also a member of the Illinois Education Association, National Education Association, National Council of English Teachers, National Rifle Association and Missouri Arms Collectors Association.

Survivors include two sons, Gilbert of St. Louis, Mo. and Kent of Centralia; one daughter, Rosemarie Finley, Lincoln; two sisters, Sandra Mattingly of Olney and Katherine Burkhart of Vincennes, Ind.; and his parents of Olney.
