Phyllis J. Baker, 71, of Collinsville, Ill., born Nov. 26, 1934, in Olney, Ill., died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2006, in Doctors Hospital of Renaissace, Edinburg, Texas.

Mrs. Baker worked as a secretery for the Collinsville Chamber of Commerce from 1983 to 1991. She was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ; Past-President of Collinsville BPW, Evening Circle, Al Sihah Temple, Daughters of the Nile 29, Purity White Shrine 110 and Collinsiville Chapter Order of Eastern Star 666.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William T. Scott and Minnie V. nee Stone, McGriffen; a step-father, Don McGriffen; a brother, Thomas G. Scott.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Baker of Collinsville, Ill.; her daughter, Rita Fouts of Granite City, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral service at Allan and Ciuferi Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill., with the Rev. Dave Stabenfeldt officiating. Burial in St. John's Cemetery, Collinsville, Ill.
