William Paul Ritter

William Paul "Bill" Ritter, 75, of Olney, died at 1:25 p.m. Friday, August 24, 2010 at his home.  Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery in Parkersburg.

Mr. Ritter was born December 3, 1934 in Olney, the son of Robert Lawrence and Sarah (Moore) Ritter. He married Marilyn Sue Wynn on February 3, 1956 in Parkersburg. She survives.

He was a farmer and worked in the oilfield before starting Ritter's Farm Supply 31 years ago. He was an active civic leader in the Calhoun community. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His family and friends will sadly miss him.

Mr. Ritter is survived by his wife, Marilyn Sue Ritter of Olney; son, Robert "Bob" Ritter and his wife, Hope of Olney; son, Daniel Ritter of Charlotte, N.C.; brother, Robert Ritter of Riverview, Fla.; brother Edward Ritter and his wife, Shirley of Olney; brother, Douglas Cassady of Olney; stepsister, Nixola Hamilton and her husband, Carl of Evansville, Ind.; three grandchildren J.R. Ritter and his wife, Keri, Chris Ritter and his wife, Beth and Nickie Ritter Daniel; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Kaylie and Corbin Ritter and Daisy Daniel; brother-in-law, Cloren "Corky" Wynn and his wife, Laura of Lindsay, Calif.; brother-in-law, Junior Wynn and his wife, Janice of Louisville, Ky.; nieces and nephews, Sheila Ritter, Scott Ritter, Bill Cassady, Jackie Cassady Goble, Greg Wynn, Jeff Wynn, Thad Wynn and Kristi Ekbundt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lawrence and Sarah Ritter; stepfather, Harry Cassady; eldest son, Bill Ritter Jr.; in-laws, Cloyd and Thelma Wynn and several step-brothers and step-sisters.
