James Henry King, 89, of Pana, Illinois passed away Thursday, September 12, 2024 Hickory Estates Memory Care, Pana. He was born December 19, 1934 in Olney, IL to the late Virgil & Esther (Rinehart) King. James married Wanda Tipton on December 27, 1953 in Dundas, IL. She preceded him in death on September 23, 2017.

James was a graduate of Olney High School and worked as a journeyman/lineman for CIPS. He was a member of the Pana Elks, Pana Country Club & Pana Moose. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and later in life, he could be found golfing & bowling. He loved watching all sports and looked forward to traveling with Wanda to Sarasota, FL, Myrtle Beach and Longmont, CO.

James is survived by his children: Lagenia “Sis” Evans, Vandalia, IL & James D. King, Pana, IL; daughter-in-law, Susan King, Pana, IL; grandchildren: Jeremy (Robyn) Easton, Jason (Becky) Easton, Stephanie Thomas (Brent Tedrick), Greg (Faith) Evans, Cory King, Chase King, Trever King (significant other, Babe) and several great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Stan King; son-in-law, Walter Evans and sister, Mary Sprague.

Funeral services held in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home with Pastor Leon Goff officiating. Burial in Linwood Cemetery, Pana.
