Eldona J. Jones, 75, of Newton, passed away at 12:17 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at Newton Rest Haven in Newton. Funeral services at Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton with Rev. Tim Pearce officiating.  Burial in Dundas Cemetery.

Eldona was born on November 29, 1935, in Logan, West Virginia, the daughter of Hubert and Florence (Bickford) Jones.

Eldona was a caregiver to many people over the years. She enjoyed crocheting, watching baseball games and spending time with her grandchildren.

Eldona is survived by a daughter, Kim (Mike) Swick, of Newton; son, Franklin "Buddy" Rule of Olney; four grandchildren, Jason (Mary) Hayes, of Dieterich, Jared (Adrienne) Hayes, of Manhattan, Kan., Maranda (Ryan) Rohr, of Newton, and Carlie Rule, of Bridgeport; two sisters, Barbara Cox, of Petersburg, Ind., and Shirley Pflaum, of Noble; nine great-grandchildren; and four nieces and two nephews.

Eldona was preceded in death by her parents, infant son, Joe Porter, and one niece.
