Della Marlene Eyer (Schnepper)

Della Marlene (Eyer) Schnepper, 85, of Olney, died on Monday, January 4, 2021 at her home.  Marlene was born on September 3, 1935 in Alvordton, OH, the daughter of James Owen Eyer and Blanche Lenora (King). She married Gordon Schnepper on March 2, 1957 in Olney, IL, and he survives.

Marlene was a Registered Nurse: pediatric nurse, doctor office nurse, head nurse, home health nurse, supervisor, and CNA instructor. She was also part owner of the family business, Fox Creek Vineyards. Marlene held many interests and hobbies; she was a teacher, a gardener, a reader, a writer, she crocheted and sewed, was a faithful Christian and member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and most importantly was a loving wife and life partner to Gordon for 63 years.        

Marlene is survived by her husband, Gordon Schnepper of Olney; daughter, Shari Russell and husband Terry Straub of Olney; daughter, Janet Mason and husband Mark of Libertyville, IL; son, David Schnepper of New Lennox, IL; daughter, Susan Neirynck and husband Terry of Kewanee, IL; son, James Schnepper of Montville, NJ; 15 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; brothers, Mike Eyer, Glenn Eyer, and Sam Eyer; sisters, Lila Burrows, and Donna Harris; and many nieces and nephews.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Margaret "Meg" Rickets.

A private family Funeral Service will be held for Marlene at 10:00 AM on January 9, 2021 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney. The Service will be available live via the Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home website.

Interment will follow the service at Fritschle-Scherer Cemetery.
