Mary Steury (Cantrell)

Mary "Rose" Cantrell, 68, of Olney, died Friday, October 12 2001, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.  Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney.

Mrs. Cantrell was born on July 5, 1933, the daughter of William and Lena (Totten) Steury. She married Joel "Jake" Cantrell in December 20, 1951. He survives.

She worked at Decker's Drive-In, the garment factory, shoe factory and Kex. She was nursery supervisor and custodian along with her husband at First United Methodist Church in Olney. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Olney, taught the Sunshine Class and delivered tapes for the tape ministry.

Mr. Cantrell is survived by her husband, Joel "Jake" Cantrell of Olney; four daughters, Melda Bellinger, Carolyn "Sue" Crum, Vicki Lobacz and Becky Cantrell; two brothers, Charles Steury of Fairfield and John Steury of Bradley; a sister, Sarah "May" Benson of Bradley; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
