Mary Welles Shortt Harris, 44, Perryville, Missouri died at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, July 9, 1981 in Sikeston, Missouri.  Services held at the Presbyterian Church in Perryville.

Mrs. Harris was born September 15, 1936 in Richmond, Va., the daughter of Stuart A. and Mary Alice Tolman Shortt. Mr. Shortt was administrator of Richland Memorial Hospital from before it was opened until May 1955.

Mary was a graduate of East Richland High School in Olney.

Survivors include two sons, Mike and David; a daughter, Susan; a brother, Stuart A. Shortt, Jr., Mandan, N.D. and her parents of French Village, Mo.
