Cleophas Frederick Hahn

Cleo F. Hahn, 87, of Olney, formerly of Stringtown, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Richland Nursing and Rehab in Olney.

Cleo was born November 6, 1936 in Stringtown, Illinois, the son of William and Clotilda (Rennier) Hahn. He married Michelle Boone on June 10, 1967 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stringtown, and she preceded him in death on February 5, 2015.

Cleo was an 8th grade graduate of St. Joseph, Stringtown. He then went on to graduate from East Richland High School and then served in the US Army Reserve from 1957-1963. Cleo loved spending time with his 6 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He enjoyed walking them to the Elliott Street bridge and giving them lawn mower rides. Cleo took pleasure in gardening, photography, wood projects, lawn mower repairs, visiting with his neighbors and swinging on his porch swing. He also enjoyed playing guitar and listening to bluegrass music. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney and the Knights of Columbus.

Cleo is survived by his son, Doug E. Hahn of Tracy, CA; daughter, Julie Parker and husband Don of Syracuse, UT; daughter, Lori Kocher and husband Chad of Olney; grandchildren, Vanessa and Kayla Hahn, Arron Parker and wife Kayla, Branden Parker, Lexie (Tyler) Zuber, and Briley Kocher; great grandchild, Atlas Cleophas Parker, brothers, Delmer (Sandra) Hahn and Donovan (Carol) Hahn; sister, Carolyn (Larry) Heindselman; special companion, Kay Helregel,  and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and two sisters, Pat Keller and Judy Miller.

A funeral service will be held for Cleo at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 3, 2024 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney with a visitation beginning one hour before service time at the funeral home. Interment will follow services at St. Joseph Cemetery, Stringtown with Full Military Rites to be performed at the graveside.
