George B. Ochs, 77, of Olney, died on Sunday, April 17, 2022 at Richland Nursing & Rehab. George was born on February 9, 1945 in Olney, Illinois, the son of Augustine and Lorena (Zuber) Ochs.

George was a member of the Moose Lodge in Olney, having served as Governor multiple times and earning the Pilgrim Degree. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Eagles, and the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney. George worked for several Township Road Commissioners. He enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals and old Western movies.

George is survived by his brothers, Fred Ochs, and Elmer Ochs; sisters, Ethel Schneider, Ruth Thompson, Hilda Hinterscher, Rose Buerster, Geraldine Ezell, and Irene Pierce; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; ex-wife, Barbara Clark; brother, Andy Ochs; and sister, Lucy Deimel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stringtown, IL, with a visitation beginning one hour before service time at the church.

Interment will follow the service at St. Joseph Cemetery in Stringtown.
